Mark has extensive experience representing taxpayers. He has wide contacts throughout the tax community, both within and outside Inland Revenue. Mark is committed to working hard for his clients to resolve tax issues before they become problems. He engages proactively with Inland Revenue where possible before tax matters get out of hand in order to achieve the most favourable result at the lowest costs for my clients. But he also does not shy away from a fight where necessary.
He provides tax opinions and advice about permitted tax structuring and help resolve any tax queries that might arise. He has long experience responding to and managing Inland Revenue queries, from risk reviews to audits to full-blown tax disputes involving the exchange of NOPAs, NORs and SOPs. He also has experience before the Taxation Review Authority representing clients challenging their tax assessment and before the District Court representing clients regarding their tax debt or facing tax criminal matters.
As a practicing Barrister all communications and advice is subject to legal professional privilege, meaning we can speak openly about the situation and options available to clients. Clients include:
* accounting firms that do not operate their own tax function and need fast, specialised tax advice for their clients
* law firms and litigators that cannot provide specialist tax advice

* private clients who need professional assistance in their dealings with Inland Revenue
Clients can be assured they will be dealing directly with Mark and receive his personal service to help them achieve the best possible tax result.
